Fashion on the streets of Ghent
It all begins with an idea 💡
Welcome,
I decided to create this blog, as a safe space to share more of my adventures being a black female makeup artist & photographer in the city of Ghent. I am hoping to help other creators out there who just like me are discovering its space within the Belgian industry.
Ready for today’s adventure?
A few weeks ago I assisted an amazing photographer through the streets of Paris and since then I’ve been desiring to explore the corners of Ghent, which is so far one of my favorite cities in Belgium. The city where I chose not only to open my studio of makeup and photography but also the place I chose to live.
Crafting the storytelling
The moment I knew I wanted to get to the streets to photograph I then started to create the storytelling, starting with the model, the makeup & the wardrobe selection. Ordered a few amazing pieces from Ted Baker new collection to match Nadège beautiful features.
Time for the tips
So instead of telling you all the ups and downs of my day with a long text, I’ll use my mistakes as tips to help you out in case you are also planning for an outdoor photoshoot.
Tip 1: Pack light
Try to be as minimalistic as possible, so you don’t have to be dragging lots of stuff during the session. A little suitcase or a good-sized backpack will be your best friend.
Tip 2: Always have a plan B
Make sure you either have all your stuff on hand a few days prior to the session or if you are like me who loves ordering everything online, make sure you know a store or have a few outfits available in case the delivery is delayed.
Tip 3: Extra Careful
Always bring a pair of extra batteries and an extra SanDisk with you. Too much of an investment? Just make sure your batteries are 100% charged and your SanDisk card is a good one.
All tips noted? Well, I am sure you will have a blast…
Said all that, I am hoping my post has somehow helped you.
Let me know what you would like to see next and if you have any extra tips to share.
Farewell, my friends.
